Software Updates
Word on the street is Apple is already hard at work on Snow Leopard, the successor to Leopard.
According to sources:
Snow Leopard is currently on track to come out during next January’s Macworld, and it will not contain major OS changes. Instead, the release is heavily focused on performance and nailing down speed and stability.
Snow Leopard will be an Intel only release.

iPhone
Everyone on the net is claiming to have an insider who has tipped them off as to the launch date of the 3G iPhone, whether or not any of those claims are legit there is a very good chance the 3G iPhone will be released on June 9th.
That leads me to the obvious question… Will you be buying one?

Aaron Nelsen,
Apple,
Rumors
Intel Germany CEO Hannes Schwaderer announced that Apple would be using the relatively new Intel Atom processor in a future iPhone release. The new model reportedly would feature a larger display, correlating with past rumors about a mini-tablet (720×480) device to be coming from Apple.
English translation:
As part of an Intel event for the 40th birthday of the semiconductor company at Munich’s BMW World, Germany managing director Hannes Schwaderer confirmed today what has long been a rumor on the Internet: namely, that there is an iPhone with Intel’s new Atom chip. The device is slightly larger than the current version, Schwaderer said. That is not, however, because of the Intel chip, but because of the larger display used in the new iPhone.
While Schwaderer refers to the device as a larger “version of the iPhone”, it could easily be referring to the rumored mini-tablet device, that some¬† have suggested would be introduced at WWDC.
If Apple does release any product akin to a tablet or mini-tablet computer, I would buy one in 14.3 seconds flat. Though I might spend a little more time weighing the purchase if the the price is higher than $999, or if the specs are incredibly weak.

3G iPhone,
Aaron Nelsen,
Rumors
Yeah, not likely. For what it’s worth though, the online Apple Stores in both the US and UK have no more iPhones in stock, and O2 is no longer offering the iPhone, so needless to say, rumors are flying.
On top of that, a little birdie told me that the 3G iPhone will be launching in May. Which coincides with what Switch To a Mac reported back in April.
There is also quite a bit of speculation surrounding the possibility of a new PDA-like portable device launching at WWDC in June. Which would melt my face.
It’s completely possible that it’s merely a temporary supply issue. Furthermore, doesn’t anyone think that it seems out of place for Apple to launch the much anticipated 3G iPhone without so much as a press event?
Guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

Aaron Nelsen,
Apple,
Rumors
Geeksugar is reporting that Apple is set to unveil an update to their iMac lineup as early as next week, and other industry insiders seem to agree. The ever modest folks over at Geeksugar were very quick to point out that they did correctly predict the last MacBook/MacBook Pro refresh, so this has to be legit…
Details of what the update includes are merely speculaive at this point, but it would seem logically that they would include the new Penryn processors, as well as larger hard drives.
Guess we’ll find out for sure Tuesday.

Word on the street is that Apple may be preparing to release version 1.1.5 of the iPhone/iPod touch firmware, no word on an exact time frame, however, some time in the next few weeks seems likely.
